                                                EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Exposition is the placing of the Holy Eucharist in a Monstrance, the sacred vessel used to elevate the Sacred Host, so that the faithful may look upon Him, thus creating a more personal relationship. When we visit Jesus exposed in the Blessed Sacrament, we visit HIM "face to face", as a friend. It also helps adorers, who are guardians of the Eucharist, to be faithful to their scheduled hours because they know that our Lord can never be left alone while He is exposed.

On December 2, 1981, in a small chapel in St. Peter's Basilica, Pope John Paull II began Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration and urged ALL parishes to do the same. In his homily at the 45th International Eucharistic Congress Seville, Spain, June 1993, the Holy Father said: "I hope that this form of Perpetual Adoration, with PERMANENT EXPOSITION of the Blessed Sacrament, will continue into the future.  Specifically, I hope that the fruit of this Congress results in the establishment of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration IN ALL PARISIHES and Christian communities throughout the world. In 1980, Pope John Paul II, visited Le Sacre Coeur in Montmartre, France where there has been Perpetual Adoration for over 100 years.
